2 arrested in Englewood heroin seizure - Chicago Breaking News: "Two people were arrested Saturday in connection with a heroin seizure and confiscation of three rifles and two handguns in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
A 16-year-old was charged as a juvenile with manufacture/delivery of over 15 grams of heroin, a felony. Gene Smith, 39, of Ford Heights was charged with soliciting unlawful business, a misdemeanor.
Officers saw Smith in the area of West 68th Street and South Perry Avenue directing individuals to the juvenile, who retrieved the narcotics at an abandoned building once the individuals gave the teen money for them, police said. Smith and the juvenile were eventually taken into custody and the narcotics -- valued at more than $1,700 -- were confiscated, police said."
