Loaded gun, ammo, cocaine possession lands man in jail - Canton, OH - CantonRep.com: "Curtis Russell Thomas Jr. Friday night in a northeast Canton neighborhood.
The 19-year-old man had a bag of crack cocaine in his gym shorts pocket along with a stolen, loaded Kahr Arms 9mm handgun and another clip of ammunition, according to Stark County Jail records. His arrest record at the jail said his arrest was the result of a “police initiative aimed at stopping street gun violence” in the neighborhood.
Officers working with the Canton Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested Thomas, who lives at 2334 Tuscarawas St. E, shortly after 7 p.m. on 14th Street NE just east of Miami Avenue as neighbors watched from their front porches.
He was later booked into the jail on felony charges of having weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon and cocaine possession, jail records said.
Thomas remained in jail Saturday, held in lieu of $25,000 bond."
